MISTAKES I Noticed Last Year and 3 Valuable TIPS from Me for a Beautiful Manicure in 2022
🔴1. Major mistake – Short, pointed nails with filed-down cuticles – they don’t look good at all, and they’re not sturdy either, so they break.
✅1. Tip – Choose a shape and length that suits your nails—if you want pointed, almond-shaped, or ballerina-style nails, YOU MUST ALSO HAVE ENOUGH LENGTH. For short nails, square or rounded shapes are best.
🔴 2. Major mistake – Nail polish smudged on the cuticles – this isn’t just an aesthetic flaw; it also causes the polish to lift quickly and form a ridge. This makes the polish get caught in your hair and cause irritation.
✅ Tip #2 – Paint your nails as close to the cuticles as possible, but be careful not to touch them with the ultra-bond, base coat, color, or top coat!
If you’re having trouble—use a thin 11mm decoration brush (my favorite)
If you’re still having trouble, remember that it’s better to leave a very slight unpainted space near the cuticles than to touch them or smudge the polish all over them.
🔴 3. Big mistake – Having a little bit of everything on one hand—for example, 5 different decorations—a little sword, a snowflake, a gift, a Christmas tree, stones….
✅ 3. Tip – Choose a color and design that complement your skin tone, your personal style, and your profession.
If you want just one design—let it be bold and eye-catching as an accent.
If you want something on every nail—let them be light and delicate designs, or rather motifs, such as the designs from my latest webinar, “Gemstone Texture.”
🤫 It’s a colorful and stylish manicure, but there’s a fine line between that and it turning into tacky kitsch 🤭
