I often hear people say, “I have no talent.” This makes me wonder what meaning we attach to that word… Talent is often defined as something inherent in a person from the very beginning, even before they are born. Yes, of course, there is a degree of predestination…but as living beings, endowed with the ability to think, feel, and make choices in our lives, we also have the power to influence the direction in which we develop. The same goes for talents…. Every person has the potential within themselves to develop a certain talent… not just one or two.
People often tell me I have a talent for drawing; it sounds as if I was born an artist…
I’ve worked for years to be able to draw this way… and it’s far from perfect… I admire the truly great artists.
We are the ones who discover and nurture our talent. We challenge ourselves with the idea of a particular talent—or rather, our parents do so in our early childhood. And our grandparents, who praise, encourage, and motivate us, giving us wings to fly.
I challenge you today to devote your day to discovering your talent. Don’t wonder what you’re good at—you WILL become good at it. Just remember that one thing that makes you lose track of time, that carries you away, and that you enjoy doing… The main characteristic of talent is that it brings you joy… and only after practice and time do you become good at it 🙂

P.S. It might not even have anything to do with painting, music, or similar artistic activities… For example, I admire people who have a talent for arranging their homes in a practical, comfortable, and beautiful way.
