2. Frequent use of an ultrasonic bath is not recommended because:

• Ultrasound enhances the effect of chemicals through cavitation (the bursting of bubbles),
• Point erosion (known as “spalling”) occurs along sharp edges,
• It is particularly risky if the solution is heated above 40°C or if the instrument already has microcracks.
